IT'S FAST,
thorough and claimed to be the best in the world.
No, it's not a NEW Zealand sheep-shearer but another lethal export from the land
of Kiwis and funny rugby customs - The Jetpatcher®.
Yesterday the revolutionary machine, said to fill in potholes quickly and more
effectively than traditional methods, was put through its paces on a Wiltshire
country road.
The county council is pioneering British trials of the Jetpatcher®, now in use
across Australia, the Far East, and India.
And yesterday it made an impressive impact on a section of road at Bowerchalke,
near the Wiltshire-Dorset border.
The road repair machine was designed in 1988 after worldwide demand for a more
cost-effective way of maintaining roads, car parks, footpaths and industrial
areas.
Since then the machine has become an international star.
Said a spokesmen for the Jetpatcher® Corporation : "We're seen as market
leaders in the industry." There are almost 200 machines in service around
the globe.
Wiltshire highways engineers were on hand yesterday to see the machine in
action.
